Question: In early June I will need to travel between Amsterdam and Berlin,Berlin and Paris, and Paris and Amsterdam. Roughly how expensiveare these trips one-way? I am trying to get a sense of the costof buying individual tickets versus a Eurailpass.
Answer: Train travel in Germany is quite expensive. You will probably dobetter with a 5-day Flexipass if you want to make these trips. Lastsummer, Berlin to Amsterdam was something like 225 DM, and Amsterdamto Paris was around 120 Hfl (= 70 USD), 2nd class without reservation.I used my Eurail pass for Berlin-Amsterdam but bought the one-wayAmsterdam-Paris ticket as the pass had expired. The 5-day Flexipasswas about $40/day last year. Everything is probably higher this year.Berlin-Paris is also plenty expensive I'm sure.
