What's the cheapest way to get from London to Amsterdam either one way orroundtrip?

Question:
What's the cheapest way to get from London to Amsterdam either one way orroundtrip?

Answer: I spent all of 1999 in school in the UK and took several trips to Amsterdam, via air, rail, and sea. The cheapest is probably the ferries (Hoverspeed, but they don't use hovercraft anymore) but it takes several hours. Also addthe cost of the rail ticket from the sea terminal to yourorigin/destination, for the UK this can get expensive.

Next I took Eurostar to Brussels and then another train to Amsterdam. About4.5 hours, with 2 changes. Easy and enjoyable. Cost dependent on whatspecials Eurostar is running.

You can also fly. I flew from both Heathrow and Gatwick to Amsterdam andfound it really quick. Go to EasyJet and see what deals they have, usuallycheap. Consider the cost of the UK rail ticket too-to Gatwick it's 7 poundsor more each way.

Given these three, I would try to get a cheap airfare first, then try thetrain. The ferry is the least favorite.
