does anyone have any Guster Amsterdam suggestions?

Question:
he next two books im getting ready to read are _the davinci code_ and _thedogs of babel_. have heard really really great things about both of them.

ive really liked hornby's books that i read before so will definitely have topick up his latest.

but ive got a favor to ask: ive been in a terrible music slump lately and amreally looking for some great new stuff to listen to. i bought guster's new CDyesterday (which i love LOVE - amsterdam is so catchy) .. but other than thative got nothing. so, in addition to suggesting books.. does anyone have anynew music suggestions? would greatly appreciate it!

Answer: I agree with you on Guster. It's different from their last CD, mostly thepercussion I think. The drummer plays set more than the hand drums he usedmostly on the last one. Can't wait to see them tomorrow.I like the new Pernice Brothers CD, "Yours, Mine, & Ours" very much. Alsoanything by Andrew Bird is good, although I don't have his newest "WeatherSystems" yet. I assume you have the newest Radiohead. If you have Directvaccess, they have a freeview concert on this weekend (probably all month)featuring songs from Hail to the Thief. Also a Queen concert. If you like thick harmonies in the Crosby, Stills, Nash line, you shouldcheck out the Thorns.I've heard good things about Fountains of Wayne's new "Welcome InterstateManagers". Just found out that David Mead will be opening for the FOW/BenLee shows July 11 and 12 in NJ and Philly. He's also doing two shows in NYCJuly 14 & 15th, and a few other east coast shows this week before gettingready to open for Ron Sexsmith in the UK later in July.Gotta run, David is going to be on TV backing up Brian Wilson in about 5minutes on A&E.

Another one I want to check on is Bright Eyes. I read an article in Spinabout a new indie music enclave getting lots of buzz in Omaha, of allplaces. It completely amazed me. All of the places they mentioned wereplaces where I used to go as a kid, mostly to some great Polish weddings. What a kick.
